BREMEN: dship Carriers, part of the Deugro Group, has ordered two 12,500 DWT, F-500 type MPPs from China’s Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding company for delivery in November 2018 and Q1 2019.
With two 250-tonne capacity cranes and a second hold of over 75 metres in length, the new vessels are designed to handle heavy and lengthy project cargo shipments.
Alternatively, each F-500 has a capacity for 528 TEUs on deck, 316 in hold and 50 reefer plugs.
“We look forward to further improving our services with these environmental-friendly vessels,” said dship Carriers Global vice president Lars Feller. “Our client’s will benefit in two ways: with more technical possibilities for a wider range of project cargo and with competitive rates due to an economic fleet,” he added.
Feller said the company is looking to purchase additional newbuild and second-hand tonnage in order to continue its fleet expansion announced earlier this year.
With offices in Bremen, Houston, Singapore and Tokyo, dship Carriers owns and operates a fleet of MPPs to support breakbulk, heavylift, dry bulk, and project cargo customers.
