HAMBURG: Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) has launched ‘KN Eurasia Express’, a less than container load (LCL) shipment rail service between Wuhan, China, Hamburg and Malaszewicze/Poznan in Poland.
The new operation complements the company’s existing full container load (FCL) rail link from 50 points in China – including Shengyang, Chongqing, Chengdu and Zhengzhou – to Duisburg, Germany.
K+N said Eurasia Express is targeting companies in the automotive, high-tech and fashion sectors for FCL and LCL shipments both east and westbound.
In addition to enhanced security seals, the ccmpany is providing GPS-based monitoring for real-time data on temperature, humidity, pressure, light exposure and position of its general cargo and 45-ft. reefer containers.
“KN Eurasia Express represents a perfect mobility chain door-to-door,” said K+N Board member for Seafreight Otto Schacht. “With transit times of between 14 and 18 days from departure to destination terminal, we offer our customers much faster delivery times compared to maritime transport, at lower costs compared to airfreight.”
Eurasia Express also covers countries in the European periphery with the first block trains arriving in Turkey. The company said it also plans to introduce LCL services between China and Russia.
